Like every year, this year 33rd Surajkund International Crafts Mela is going to create a buzz all around. The 33rd Surajkund International Crafts Mela will be held from February 1st, 2019 to February 17th, 2019, which is surrounded by Aravalli Range. In a recent meeting in Pariwahan Bhawan, organizers and Chief Secretary Yogendra Tripathi said that this year Surajkund International Crafts Mela would be based on Maharashtra Theme and the Partner Nation would be Thailand. In this event, apart from more than 1000 artists, there are around 30 countries, which will participate.
The chief secretary - Vijay Vardhan of the Surajkund Mela said that Raigarh Fort would be the main attraction of the Surajkund Mela. As the Raigarh Fort is situated on the Aravalli Range, the management has chosen one of the parts of the hills to create the replica of Raigarh Fort. The “mukhya chaupal” will be constructed near the haveli and is estimated that the entire construction will be done by January 26. Apart from this other five replicas that represent Maharashtra will also be created, among all one will be Gateway of India. Along with other authority members of Surajkund Mela, Jaya Jaitly, who is former Indian Politician and Indian Handicrafts Curator gave the suggestions on the preparations and improvements of 33rd Surajkund International Crafts Mela.
