CBU Online Ranks 7th in California

BestColleges.com recently published its list of top-rated online colleges throughout the state of California. According to the report, California Baptist University is listed in the seventh position ? placing the university within the top 10 out of 25 colleges listed in the state.
Below is the list of the top ten schools that made the list for California ? including California Baptist University:

2) Brandman University
3) California State University (Fullerton)
4) Golden Gate University (San Francisco)

CBU also made the Top 50 list of the highest rated online colleges throughout the country.
As shown by the report published by BestColleges.com, California Baptist University received a ranking score of 64.56. To put things in a proper perspective, the college that earned the top spot on the list for California (Touro University Worldwide) received a 77.11 ranking score followed by Brandman University with a 72.56 ranking score.

About California Baptist University (CBU)

California Baptist University was first established in 1950 under the name ?California Baptist College.? The school enrolled 120 students within the first year after its founding thanks to the dedicated leadership and commitment of P. Boyd Smith ? the school?s first president. Nearly three years later, California Baptist College started its affiliation with the California Southern Baptist Convention and received its charter from the State of California the following year.

In the decades that followed, CBU continued to grow and expand. For instance, the College of Allied Health was established on-campus during the fall months of 2010. That was also the year when the university opened a 3rd campus restaurant. Nearly two years later, several bachelor?s degree programs hosted by CBU acquired approval and accreditation from the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
Thanks to the current leadership of President Ronald L. Ellis, California Baptist University has transformed into a comprehensive Christian university that consists of 10 different professional schools and colleges that collectively offer more than 150 undergraduate concentrations and majors.

During a CBU staff reception back in 2014, President Ellis compared assembling a high-quality university to putting a puzzle together. According to Ellis, the ?building blocks? included getting the right people, the right programs, housing, food and classrooms. To elaborate on the illustration of the jigsaw puzzle, Ellis further stated that ?it?s really difficult to do if you don?t know what the picture looks like.?

Dr. Mary Cris, the professor of education within the Division of Online and Professional Studies, referred to Dr. Ellis as a ?man of faith and vision? as well as an ?inspirational leader? and a humorous man. Dr. Cris explained that Dr. Ellis initially came to California Baptist University after ?he felt God?s call to lead a Baptist college, especially one that was struggling.?
It is clear from the ranking of the college among comparable colleges within the state and its overall track record that Dr. Ellis? hard work and overall vision have paid off.
