Fremont, CA: TrainHR, a leading provider of professional trainings for the HR industry, is organizing a 75-minute webinar on the topic, “Why are we doing this? Intro to the Ishikawa Fishbone Diagram” on July 17. Well-respected author, speaker and HR strategist, Daniel T. Bloom, will be the speaker at this webinar. Please log on to http://www.trainhr.com/control/w_product/~product_id=702064LIVE to know more about this webinar and to register for it.
Viewing this webinar, its entirety qualifies for a recertification credit hour that may be counted toward SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP recertification from SHRM. Credit is awarded based on the actual educational time spent in the program.

The TLS Continuum relates to three disparate, but linked concepts that form a chain or, as the name suggests, a continuum. When combined, the three become processes in themselves. Very briefly, these are:
Theory of constraints: The first of the three parts of this conundrum; the Theory of Constraints was propagated by Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt in his book, The Goal. It is essentially about critically looking at where the constraints lie in the process, how we understand them, and how we change and overcome them.
Lean: The Lean Theory is essentially about making the resources needed for production lean or ridding it of unnecessary wastages with the intention of removing obstacles that come in the way of fast delivery of services to the customer. This is only aimed at facilitating and augmenting speed, and does not take other critical parameters of customer satisfaction such as quality, etc. into consideration.
Six Sigma: Six Sigma is about correcting variations into the processes. The author of the book, Six Sigma: The Breakthrough Management Strategy Revolutionizing the World's Top Corporations, Dr. Mikal Harry, states that there are five statements, or the Five Whys to our process improvement efforts. These are:
o Things we don’t know, we don’t know
o Things we don’t know, we can’t do
o Until we have measured, we won’t know
o What we don’t value, we usually won’t measure
o What we don’t measure, we don’t value.
An analytical and perceptive reading of the TLS Continuum helps organizations understand where the impediments to processes lie, and helps them to eliminate them.
The Ishikawa Fishbone Diagram
One can manage the responses to The TLS Continuum visually by using the Ishikawa Fishbone Diagram. This learning is the core of this webinar. The TLS Continuum is essentially all about asking the critical questions that lead to why a process is not working to set or required standards. A good part of the TLS Continuum concerns an understanding of the causes and effects of factors within the organization that could be posing as stumbling blocks to the flow of information and materials through the organization.
The aim of this webinar is to give participants an understanding of how to ask the right, structured questions which identify the causes of the obstacles to the process flow and the way in which they affect customers. Daniel will help participants to clearly identify the potential solutions to these problems, which form the foundation for the defining stage of the TLS Continuum.
He will show how participants can explain to management the reasons for which the decisions on changes to the corporate culture that were required to meet the demands of the organizational stakeholders were made. He will teach participants how to ask the critical questions to resolve organizational problems. He will also explain the Fishbone Diagram Procedure to illustrate these situations.
Daniel will cover the following areas at this webinar:
o 5 Whys
o Ishikawa Fishbone Diagram
o 6 Arms of the Fishbone
o Why are we doing this?
