On 4th October 2017, Alembic was honoured at the ?Gujarat Best Employer Brand Awards 2017? in the category of ?Outstanding contribution to the cause of Education? for its unstinted efforts in the field of education.
Alembic Group of Companies, through its non-profit initiatives has been contributing in the field of education since past 57 years through the Alembic Group of Schools and Alembic Foundation.
Alembic Group of Schools is a non-profit initiative, established in 1959. There are four schools run by the Group in Vadodara city namely Alembic Vidyalaya, UtkarshVidyalaya, TejasVidyalaya and D. R. Amin Memorial School (impacting lives of more than 7,500 students).
Alembic Foundation is the Corporate Social Responsibility, initiative of Alembic Group of Companies. It was formed in 2015 to centralise the charitable initiatives of the Group. Geographically, the foundation has undertaken projects in 3 different district i.e. Vadodara, ChhotaUdepur and Panchmahal focusing on impactful sustainable activities in the areas of Education, Health, Sanitation, Environment and Skill Development (impacting more than 1,00,000 lives).
The foundation runs a Free Secondary & Higher Secondary School named VikasVidyalaya at Panelav, near Halol, Panchmahal District for more than 300 children with a Hostel facility for more than 200 boys. The aim is to provide good quality, complete free education with nutritious meals focusing on holistic development of the children.
The Foundation has adopted 2 Govt. Primary Schools (impacting lives of 568 students) in Vadodara, 1 Kasturba Gandhi BalikaVidyalaya (KGBV) and 8 Secondary Govt. Schools (impacting lives of 639 students) in ChhotaUdepur district. A Foundation Course has been developed at the entry level of class 9. The course aims to strengthen the basic concepts learnt at primary level. District level Teacher training (impacting nearly 500 secondary teachers) is also organised every year at Chotta Udepur to strengthen the academic interventions.
