Kat Stiles has released her novel, Connected. A young adult paranormal romance, Connected follows a teenage girl who discovers that she has super powers and has to join with her friends to thwart a serial killer.

Kat Stiles explains on her site that she is a super geek at heart and grew up watching superhero films such as Spider-Man and X-Men. Kat shares her life with her family, three dogs and three cats and is passionate about reading, writing, music and movies.
The site states that Kat has always found it easy to write and even loved essay questions in tests at school. She explains that she remembers the first book she ever wrote which was a mystery story about a girl who finds a ghost in her attic and and is still drawn to YA fiction today because of the fun possibilities. Kat writes that she tries to reflect her easygoing nature in her writing and believes that reading should be fun.
The superhero movies of her youth and television series such as Heroes inspired Kat to write Connected. She says that she tried to keep the super abilities in the book as organic as possible and wanted them to be just beyond normal human capabilities. Kat states that she has met incredible people in her life and her experiences have also influenced the writing of Connected.
Connected follows Em who is in her freshman year at high school. While working her way through the problems of cliques, annoying teachers and tough homework, she discovers that she has super powers and has to learn how to control them. She isnt alone though as her best friend Roz starts to have dreams that turn to reality and her crush Tommy can hear the softest of whispers.
Just as Em is getting on the right track and has a blossoming romance with Tommy, disaster strikes and people are starting to drop like flies. It soon becomes clear that a telepathic serial killer is on the loose and its up to Em and her friends to stop him.
