Oslo, Global security provider, Conax, announced today that it has entered a contract with Fastway Transmission to deliver a Conax content security solution. Fastway Transmissions, partially owned by Reliance Group, is the leading cable TV provider in Punjab, Northern India, and among the largest in Asia. The contract includes Conax Chipset Pairing, Conax Fingerprinting, and Conax nVOD to ensure maximum security for the 140 plus premium Digital cable channels offered by Fastway. Conax is also providing Fastway with its globally proven secure solution for fast digitalization.
The contract with Fastway also includes an agreement for full Conax Operational Security, where Conax handles daily operations of the Fastway content security platform, including 24/7 monitoring and system maintenance.
An established market leader
Conax is already established as market leader within content protection in the burgeoning Indian pay-TV market. In October 2009, the security provider opened a new office in Mumbai to serve its customers in India better. Earlier this year, Conax established a Global 24/7 Support center at its Delhi operations, further strengthening its commitment to the Indian market.
Fastway Transmissions chose Conax as a security partner for its growing cable TV offering based on Conax excellent security record, integrity, flexible technology and operational support, confirms Mr. Gurdeep Singh, Managing Director, Fastway Transmissions PVT. Ltd. We feel very confident in Conax secure technology and personalized service.
Today, content providers, in addition to Cable operators need confirmation that their content will not be illegally redistributed and requires the best solutions protecting the distribution of content, says Are Mathisen, VP Asia Sales, Conax. Conax is quite pleased that leading Punjab cable operator, Fastway Transmissions, has further confirmed the success of Conax solutions in India.
Conax recommends protecting content from transmission through to the consumer device, by deploying Conax content security combined with Conax Chipset Pairing. In addition to controlling secure delivery of content, operators then also have control over the Set Top Boxes located in the consumers home.
Conax also supplies a Fingerprinting solution that provides yet an additional layer of security. Should illegal distribution of content occur through output of a Set-Top-Box meant to be used by one specific subscriber, the source of the illegal distribution can be identified down to the actual subscriber. Further access to content can be blocked and legal actions can be made.
