Criminal Defense Attorney John Rogers Secures Acquittal in Murder Case Against Kirk Zimmerman

A McLean County jury found Zimmerman not guilty of the November 2014 murder of his ex-spouse Pamela Zimmerman in a case that has attracted national attention.

St. Louis, MO (May 8 2019) ? After a hard-fought trial lasting five weeks, John Rogers of the St. Louis law firm Rogers Sevastianos & Bante, LLP, successfully dismantled the state?s case against Kirk Zimmerman. The defendant, 60, was accused of first degree murder of his ex-spouse Pamela Zimmerman, 53, who was found with four gunshot wounds at her east side Bloomington office in November 2014.

In a case in which the state focused on largely circumstantial evidence, Rogers was able to obtain key rulings from the Court to exclude inflammatory and altogether irrelevant evidence; demonstrate the unreliability of gunshot residue due to possible contamination by law enforcement; and bring to the stand an array of experts and investigators who questioned the credibility of the state's claims.

After hearing the testimony of 60 witnesses, the jury deliberated for two plus days at the McLean County Courthouse before returning a verdict of not guilty.
