Garrett explains the importance of getting your tires checked before the summer heat kicks in. Getting your tires checked for proper air, tread and quality is essential in maintaining the life of your tires. Regardless of what drivers do with their wheels, says Garrett, it is important to check their air pressure because it is critical to have properly-inflated rubber.

?Proper inflation ensures the best possible contact between the tires and the road; what?s more, an improperly inflated tire can overheat, potentially causing a blowout on the highway,? he adds.

Also important during the warmer months is a vehicle?s air conditioning system, which YHS representatives say should be run for a bit to determine if cold air is still being emitted. Drivers should pay attention to any strange noises or odors, and if the system needs cleaning or requires a recharge, the vehicle should be brought in to a professional shop like YHS Service Center immediately.
