AUSTIN, Texas ? Taylor Morrison, a leading national builder and developer, has partnered with HomeAid, a leading national provider of housing and resources for the homeless, to build an emergency drop-in center in Austin for survivors of exploitation and trafficking.
SAFE will host Seton House partners for a reception on Wednesday, March 6th from 4-5:30 p.m. at their offices at 4800 Manor Road. This event is open to the media and will recognize the collaboration of various organizations and companies who worked together to open the Seton House?s doors.
The new center remodeled by HomeAid Builder Captain, Taylor Morrison, will be an entry point where survivors of trafficking can rest, get one-on-one counseling in a safe environment and meet with peers going through the same situation. In the past, SAFE, Stop Abuse for Everyone, has served the local community for approximately 17 hours a week. With the new center, SAFE will be able to help local survivors by providing between 40 and 50 hours of service each week.
Approximately 79,000 minors and youth are victims of sex trafficking in Texas.

?This will be a positive space where survivors can seek out help, learn about the services SAFE offers and receive vital counseling,? said April Whitaker, president of Taylor Morrison?s Austin division. ?Taylor Morrison is honored to be a part of HomeAid?s first project in Austin.?

Taylor Morrison?s vendor partners include Wisenbaker Builder Service, Victory Plumbing, ABC Fence, Felipe Coronado and Marek Brothers Drywall.

As Taylor Morrison?s charity of choice, HomeAid?s mission is to rebuild lives for others through housing and community outreach. The organization builds and renovates shelters for homeless families and individuals across the country. With this new project HomeAid will serve those in need throughout Greater Austin.

?As the 501c3 charity partner of the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin, HomeAid couples the need for supportive housing with the talent and resources within the home building community to build new lives for Austin?s homeless,? said Melissa Nicewarner Daly, Executive Director for HomeAid Austin. ?Our chapter launched in 2018, and we are grateful to Taylor Morrison for their leadership on our first renovation. There is no shortage of need, and we look forward to serving many more Homeless Care Providers in the Greater Austin Area for years to come.?

SAFE's mission is to end sexual assault and exploitation, child abuse, and domestic violence through prevention, intervention, and advocacy for change. The SAFE Alliance is a merger of Austin Children?s Shelter and SafePlace, both long-standing and respected human service agencies in Austin.

Taylor Morrison is involved with HomeAid in a number of its markets, including Atlanta, Austin, Colorado, Houston, the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, the Inland Empire and Orange County, holding seats on local Boards of Directors, building homes and outreach centers, and participating in numerous community outreach initiatives.
