AMG Unveils Strategy Refresh, Eyes Production Growth in TV & Film

The Canadian media company, led by producer Mark Berry, posts its latest acquisitions.

On the 18th of January 2019, Music and film media indie AMG unveiled a strategy refresh including plans to grow its feature film & television businesses. AMG Chairman Mark Berry has been leading the company since 1998.

"In the future, we'll be focusing on three key areas ? strengthening the integrated producer broadcaster, growing Canadian and global production, and securing acquisitions across all mediums," Berry said.

Berry further detailed AMG's goals in those three core focus areas, saying: "AMG will be more than FILM/TV, it will be a structurally sound integrated producer broadcaster where our ambition is to maintain total viewing and increase total advertising revenue; it will be a growing and profitable content business, it will create value by developing and nurturing strong direct film & television relationships, whereby digital broadcasters want to spend money on a range of content and experiences with the trusted AMG brand."

Berry said that AMG sees an opportunity to build a new Film & TV model in Canada, potentially with finance partners from around the globe, as part of its focus on business development. "We are currently involved in several high profile television projects such as The Meyer Lanksy Diaries, animated/live action Zephyr's Pond and biopics I Want My MTV: The Les Garland Story and The Marlin Briscoe Story."

AMG will in 2019/20 invest heavily across its businesses in the new strategy as part of a three-year plan.
