15th November, 2018: LXL Ideas enables learning for life by creating experiences for students, parents and educators. For over 2 decades, it has been transforming education through its brands - School Cinema makes meaningful films; Krayon conceptualizes and organises large-impact events; Mentor creates platforms for sharing educational ideas and delivers holistic research and training.

The International Kid's Film Festival 2018 ('IKFF'), an LXL Ideas initiative, is a unique film festival hosted by schools across the globe between 14th and 23rd November, 2018 that provides an opportunity for children to 'Watch' the best of international children's films, 'Learn' from film-making master classes and 'Make' films to participate in the 'World's Largest Student Film-Making' competition. The festival has kick-started today on the occasion of Children?s day in over 100 cities in India including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore & Hyderabad in over 4000 govt. & private schools.

IKFF 2018 aims to soar across boundaries and motivate students, teachers and parents to embrace films as an educational medium. With the Watch, Learn and Make modules, students will get a chance to go on a journey of awareness, learning and creating through the magic of films from across the globe and learn the art of filmmaking.

The film festival was inaugurated at St Mary?s School, ICSE in presence of Bollywood actor Boman Irani, Mr. Pierre Laburthe, Attach? for Innovation and Multimedia, Embassy of France in India, & Tony Huber, Australian Consul General along with the 5 child member jury from Italy?s Giffoni Film festival as part of a child jury exchange.

IKFF debuted in 2017; 500+ schools across 75 cities participated and organised screenings for their students with their families and neighbouring schools. Most school management and participants rated IKFF as one of the best events they have witnessed.

Emphasizing on the importance of the audio-visual medium, Syed Sultan Ahmed, MD and Chief Learner @LXL Ideas says: ?Children today are exposed to a lot of content but the sad reality is that most of the content they watch is of a very low standard. International Kids Film Festivals offer a great opportunity for children to watch the best of world cinema, but the challenge is that film festivals are not easily accessible as they are organised in very few cities. Now through the IKFF schools across the world have a unique opportunity to host a film festival in their own premises and bring the best of world cinema right to the schools doorstep. As part of the festival school children can also learn how to Make films and it also provides young film makers an opportunity to participate in the world?s largest student film making competition?

Mr. Pierre Laburthe, Attach? for Innovation and Multimedia, Embassy of France in India? ?The French Institute in India is very proud to be a part of IKFF. Films transport us to new places, give us insight into different cultures and allow us to dream bigger. Showing films in the framework of a children?s film festival is the perfect opportunity to open young minds to the world! The animated French films that are part of IKFF this year really embody that objective: be it by following Adama in his quest for his brother in West Africa during WWI or Sacha looking for her grandfather in Russia.?
