Paintpots Nurseries has the use of a splendid building in Hartford, Cheshire, at The Old School House and is conveniently located for parents in Northwich and Winsford. It is now able to provide after school care Cheshire for parents who have to work a full day and need somewhere for their children that they know is safe for them after the school day has ended.

Founded by Andrew Howarth and Nichola Moss ? both parents themselves - in 2006, Paintpots Nurseries began life in Manchester city centre. As Nichola said at the time ?We wanted to create a truly caring environment for young children - one where care means personal attention, a desire to nurture, and ensuring your child?s well-being.? The resounding success of the Manchester Nursery led to the opening of The Old School House Nursery in Hartford in 2010.

The Old School House has very recently ? in January 2018 ? had a visit from an Ofsted Inspector who rated the nursery as good. We have recently taken on a new Manager at The Old school House and the Inspector commented: ?The new manager is passionate about her role and has a clear vision about how to
develop the nursery further. In the short space of time she has been in the post she has worked hard to help maintain the good standards of teaching and care.? He noted that children have a strong bond with their key person. The care of babies is a key strength of the nursery and staff interaction with the children is strong. The staff provides a wide range of opportunities for children to learn about their community and different cultures, and the children are taken on outings in the local area.

The Old School House caters for children from the age of six weeks to five years old. There is an outdoor play area to which all children have access at least twice a day, weather permitting. There is also a border and a greenhouse where the children are taught how to grow vegetables.

The nursery has very recently started to provide after school care and holiday care for older children. This has proven very popular with parents who have to work a full day and are unable to be at home when school finishes.
