Sri Mittapalli Chakravathi, Vice-Chairman and Director, Narasaraopeta Engineering College has lauded the efforts of four students studying in this institution as they have been selected to participate in the University Innovation Fellows program of Stanford University?s Hasso-Plattner Institute of Design. These students are: A. Pujitha Reddy, D.Bhargav Narayana, G.SaiSravani and G.Yaswanth. They have gone through a rigorous 6-week online training programme which makes them eligible for the Silicon Valley Meet up scheduled for March 2018. Narasaraopeta Engineering College is the first institution in the region of Palnadu, Andhra Pradesh, to earn its place for this grand event. Overall, 258 students from 64 educational institutes spread over 9 countries are participating in this fellowship. The official term used for these students is ?University Innovation Fellows.?

These ?Fellows? represent the student voice in global talks on the future of education. The familiarity with the entrepreneurship ecosystem is enhanced after working closely with faculty, administrators and community stakeholders. The University Innovation Fellows program empowers the ?Fellows? to spearhead change at their institutions.

The primary objective of this global community of students is to lead a movement discussing crucial attributes, skill sets and knowledge required to stand out from the competition. These students create new opportunities that help their peers develop an entrepreneurial mindset, build confidence, grasp opportunities, define problems and address global challenges. They also establish student innovation spaces, entrepreneurship organisations and host experiential events.

This fellowship is more than just a network; it?s a family of remarkable young, passionate and driven individuals who are open to learn from one another and share strategies to initiate a necessary change. Their sublime combination during and after training ensures insightful knowledge takeaways.

The selected students from Narasaraopeta Engineering College will take part in these immersive sessions at Stanford?s d.school and work with various leaders from the business industry. During a discussion, Sri Mittapali Chakravathi said that Narasaraopeta Engineering College has had a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with various institutions from the United States in the past.

He continued saying that such tie-ups with foreign universities will keep on growing in the coming years, ensuring ample opportunities for all students of this college to showcase and develop their knowledge base, and skill sets that are crucial to withstand the dynamic challenges that can arise at any point of time.
