New Delhi 1 Dec 2017: Taxi operators in Delhi NCR are in phase of boosting airport transfer services as four cities in Uttar Pradesh- Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra and Varanasi- are getting regional connectivity with major Indian cities come January 2018. The Indian Government and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) have jointly planned to finalise air routes.
Taxi operators are boosting airport transfer services as starting from January 2018, all of these four cities will be connected by air to five main Indian cities.
?We are currently boosting airport transfer services in major cities in India as regional connectivity is going to get enhanced. There will be effect on our business in positive sense as footfall will be increased. We are gearing up for the upshot,? says Jaiveer Tomar, proprietor, Aone Trips, top car rental service provider from Delhi.
?We have come to know that Lucknow would get direct flights to Gwalior. Apart from it Delhi to Kanpur flights with return journeys will also be offered. There will be flight on Delhi-Kanpur-Varanasi route also. These flights enhance tour activities in region and hopefully taxi operators will get more business,? he adds.
The government initiative will boost tourism in Uttar Pradesh. One other flight from Agra apart from the one to Jaipur shall be available for Delhi also. The government had announced major subsidies for airlines operating flights under the regional connectivity scheme. Many India-based private low-cost airlines are planning to begin their flights on these routes. Seeing huge potential in the development more flight carriers are also expected to join in.
?The much required air connectivity between these relatively smaller destinations will surely boost the pace of travel in the region. We are sure that it will help in the growth of tourism in the connected destinations,? says Chaudhri malik, owner Lucknow?s top tour operator, Nawab taxis.
?We are taking steps to increase fleet for catering to rise in airport transfer needs,? he adds.
Meanwhile many cab aggregators are adding additional features in online services so that bookings for airport transfer can easily be done.
