SVC Bank joins hands with Bhatia Hospital, comes up with a special programme to express gratitude towards doctors

June 30, Mumbai:It was a day filled with emotions and warmth as SVC Bank in association with Bhatia Hospital conducted a special programme in the hospital premises on June 30 on the occasion of Doctors’ Day.

The programme saw SVC Bank joining hands with the patients of Bhatia Hospital, their families and the staff and management to recognise the contribution of doctors towards the health and well being of the society. Doctors’ Day is celebrated across India in the memory of the legendary physician and second Chief Minister of West Bengal Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy.

On the day, an inimitable felicitation ceremony was held for doctors from Bhatia hospital to acknowledge their stellar efforts in the field of healthcare. SVC Bank also came up with a unique initiative fondly referred to as ‘Smiley Bank for Doctors’ where patients and their families prescribed to an unusual smiley coin aka an ‘emoticoin’ that the bank introduced specially for the occasion. All the coins were then deposited into a large piggy bank called the SVC Smiley Bank which was later opened in the presence of the entire staff, patients and Bank representatives. The coins for all the doctors were proudly put up on display. The entire activity was extremely well received marking several emotional moments for patients and their families as well as doctors themselves.

Speaking about the celebrations, Mr. Suhas Sahakari, Managing Director, SVC Bank, said, “We are very happy that we could team up with a renowned institution like Bhatia Hospital to celebrate this day in such a unique way. It has been an honour for us to have received the opportunity to recognise the work of doctors who work day and night for to provide good healthcare to the society. We are glad that patients and their families too were part of the celebrations and together we could make the doctors feel special. There were several emotional moments for everyone.”

Echoing similar thoughts, Dr. Rajeev Boudhankar, CEO, Bhatia Hospital said, “The activity was indeed unique. Normally, Doctors’ Day celebrations include simple gestures like cake cutting etc. But this time we did something different and our doctors were delighted to have experienced such love and affection from the patients, their families, hospital authorities as well as the Bank staff. It was a day that we all will remember for long.”

SVC Bank has always regarded the medical fraternity with utmost respect and has an exclusive programme specifically designed for doctors that offers customised financial solutions and products.
