Upcoming Winter Concert of renowned Los Angeles Children?s Chorus (LACC) will reportedly feature hymns inspired by Hindu text Rig-Veda, oldest existing scripture of the mankind, at Pasadena Presbyterian Church in California.

This popular Winter Concert on December four and 11 features classical and holiday music. Besides works of Bach, Vivaldi, Britten (Ceremony of Carols), Handel (Then Will I Jehovah?s Praise), Mendelssohn, etc.; it also includes Hymn to the Waters and Hymn to the Dawn from Holst?s Rig Veda, a collection of hymns inspired by the composer?s interest in Sanskrit and Hindu religion and poetry. Also featured are traditional French carol, Edmund Walters? The Cuckoo Carol, the English carol Masters in this Hall, Donald Fraser?s This Christmastide, etc.

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, commended the inclusion of Rig-Veda inspired hymns in LACC?s Winter Concert.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged the world?s top choral organizations to explore the rich wisdom of ancient Hindu scriptures for their future productions.

Founded in 1986, LACC claims to have provided choral music training to over 2,200 children and teenagers ages 6-18. Cheryl R. Scheidemantle and Anne Tomlisn are its Board Chair and Artistic Director respectively. LACC shares its artistry around the world with tours. Tickets to the Winter Concert range between $26 and $44.
