LPU organized Research Methodology Course for 50+ Researchers of Punjab Region

Playing pivotal role for the up-gradation of knowledge and skills of faculty and staff members, Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) at Lovely Professional University (LPU) keeps on organizing development programmes, not only for the betterment of available human resource but also to help the global society at large. Recently, HRDC at LPU organized a week-long course on ?Research Methodology? where 50+ research scholars from the Punjab region participated. The programme was conducted by professional experts, academicians at LPU and other top educational institutions so that participants may be able to bring forth more research papers and productive research works for the general benefit of the society. Enhancing methodological skills of each and every participant, the entire programme was interactive in nature and was devised to impart training on qualitative and quantitative research methodology. It also incorporated group work, discussions, presentations, theoretical aspects, as well as practical approaches.
When Chairman AICTE Professor Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe inaugurated LPU Human Resource Development Programs at LPU Campus, he had expressed that LPU and 19 more government and private Universities of India ought to be among top 100 Universities of the world. On these lines, HRDC at LPU has organized various workshops for enhancing research oriented teaching through guidance of acclaimed international and national trainers. During this course, Executive Dean, Faculty of Business and Arts at LPU, Dr Sanjay Modi guided participants to enhance the quality of research and publication; Professor from IMT Ghaziabad Dr Bikramjit Rishi focussed on skill development for research design, scale development and data analysis techniques; Professor from University of Jammu Dr Gurjeet Kaur guided on standardization of ?Scale and Structural Equation Modelling?; Professor from Mittal School of Business at LPU Dr Dheeraj Nim highlighted on data analysis techniques with practice for statistical software packages; and, Head HRDC at LPU Dr Sunaina Ahuja enthused participants to keep on upgrading their skills.
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal holds: ?Various research oriented endeavours, including present short term course, are very essential for the academic growth of educators to further see them as proactive and responsible researchers. I think that it is very important to develop full-fledged orientation programmes for old and newly recruited teachers alike, in all educational institutions. We at LPU always welcome such initiatives which facilitate educators enhance their research portfolios.?
Illustrative, following the guidelines of UGC, HRDC at LPU keep on organizing various programmes. A few days back, it had also organized ?National Case Writing Workshop?, where experts focused on case based teaching & writing methodology and effective use of company related data collected for structuring a case. Separate groups of participants had visited different organizations, interacted with the officials, accumulated data, drafted preliminary cases and made presentation on their respective drafts. In fact, the system of higher education is now witnessing tremendous expansion and transformation, so there is greater focus on the issues of quality and inclusive education, where such programmes are need of the hour.
