Cherrystone Auctions, an internationally-recognized leader in auctions of rare and valuable stamps, has published a listing of prices realized at its most recent auction. The full list of prices realized at the late-April public auction is available on the company?s website, which is provided in the contact information below.

The late-April auction, as is the case with each of Cherrystone?s quarterly public auctions, included stamps and stamp-related material from throughout the United States and all over the world. The most valuable lot at their latest public auction, a large collection of stamps that originated in various historical Italian colonies, realized a price of $23,000. The Italian stamps were all issued in the decades between 1912 and 1940, and all were circulated in various island and coastal historical Italian colonies. According to the auction house?s website, the $23,000 collection was ?of mostly complete sets neatly arranged in a large stock book? and included stamps from ?Libya, Eritrea, Somalia, Tripolitania, Dalmatia and Aegean Islands.?

Another of the highest prices realized at the late April auction was $15,000 for a lot that consisted of collections of stamps from the British Commonwealth. The $15,000 lot of British stamps included stamps issued between 1840 and 1936. Stamps from Great Britain, Antigua-Malta, and Mauritius-Zululand were included. In its description of the lot published prior to the auction, Cherrystone Stamps noted the ?high catalog value? of the collection. https://www.facebook.com/cherrystoneauctions/

Several other stamp lots at the April auction realized prices above $10,000. Many others, however, sold for under $200. Most of the over 1,500 lots sold at the auction fell somewhere in between the aforementioned range.
