? Leading orginastions from India awarded for their contribution to sustainability and national building

Pune: In a bid to encourage orginastions for their work in the field of sustainability, toyaM Foundation part of toyaM Technologies today announced and staged the annual toyaM Foundation Awards. The 2nd edition of the Sustainability Awards was presented at a gala awards function held in Pune on March 22nd 2017 as part of the World Water Day.
toyaM Sustainability Awards honors every year to recognize developmental & progressive work done by people and orginastions. As part of the second sustainable awards, toyaM Foundation gave awards in three different categories ? NGO, Banking & Corporate Category. The award for the NGO was given to - BAIF for championing the sustainability model so that more and more people receive clean and safe water. On behalf of BAIF, the award was received by Mr. Shrinivas Kulkarni, Group Vice President, received the award and citation. The awards were given by Padmabhushan DR. Dr. Anna
In the banking sector, Sarva Haryana Gramin Bank was awarded for their contribution in the banking sector. The award was given for their innovative work with regards to relationship with entrepreneurs and handholding them which make this model more sustainable. The award on behalf of Sarva Haryana Gramin Bank was received by its Chairman, Mr. M.P. Singh. In the corporate sector, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd was awarded for their sustainable model and making and impact to the quality of life of villages in 4 states, through clean and pure drinking water. On behalf of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt.Ltd, Mr. Harbhajan Singh, Senior Vice President & Director received the award.
As part of the gala awards ceremony, Padma Bhushan Dr. Anna Hazare who was the chief guest for the function delivered a special speech on Sustainable Village Development Model.
Speaking on the occasion, Anna Hazare said, ?Today all the development that is taking place is cruel and ugly and cannot be called development as it is unplanned. Today development is rapidly hurting the environment which is leading to major climatic changes. The climatic changes are adversely impacting the way we live our life. Sustainable solutions are the best way to combat demon of unplanned development.?
He further added, ?I appeal to people to come forward and actively participate and positively contribute towards nation building. Finding out sustainable solutions can have a positive impact on the society one needs to have the selfless approach to contribute towards the society. People need to come out of their materialistic world and sacrifice same time for the nation in every possible way. I am confident that awards initiated by Toyam Foundation will further encourage people to come forward and contribute towards to noble and ever evolving factor of sustainability.?
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Surya Vanu Dalal, Chairman, toyaM Foundation said, ?It is indeed a matter of great pride to give awards for orginastions for their contribution in the field of sustainability. I hope the awards will greatly motivate other orginastions to set higher benchmarks in and to make a meaningful contribution to society and the nation. The issue of sustainability is very close to our heart and the award is a way to contribute towards the noble cause of sustainability.?
Speaking about the Model of Sustainable Village Development Model on the lines of the famous ? Ralegan Siddhi, he said, ?There has been a complete transformation of the village. The living conditions of the villagers have improved and the gap between the haves and have-nots has narrowed down. The sustainable development model has hugely impacted the life of people in Ralegan Siddhi. The per capita income of the villagers has increased and people are today happily living together as one family.Over the years, many institutions and cooperatives like Gram Panchayat, Cooperatives Society, Cooperative Credit Society, Cooperative Dairy, Educational Society, Women?s Organization and Youth Organization, with different mandates are operating in the village.?
On the occasion, Mr. Kumar Priya Ranjan, Secretary, toyaM Foundation, said, ?Today issue of sustainability and steps taken by various orginastions is a global moment and we are very proud to be part of it. The sustainability space is growing rapidly in India and it needs to be encouraged.?
