While embarking on the development of Appsbar, Shawn McNamara faced several challenges.
First, it was important to create a tool that was free for users. The cost of developing apps was one of the main roadblocks for small businesses and independent publishers.
Artist, musicians, and writers were all looking for a mobile option to their offerings. A mobile app was the right platform. However, the cost of mobile app development ran into the thousands of dollars.
This shut out a large portion of the potential user base.
That was the beginning of the idea that led to Appsbar. Shawn McNamara knew that a free app building tool would be embraced by everyone with an interest in engaging an audience in the digital space.
With Appsbar, Shawn McNamara and his team developed a fully functional application builder that anyone can use. This is a template driven system with a simple “wizard” point-and-click tool. Thewizard takes you through the app building process step-by-step. It is very simple to use and the results are viewed in real time in a preview frame.
In developing Appsbar, Shawn McNamara devised pre-loaded app templates for different industries such asNon-Profit, Business, and Entertainment. Users can select a sector and build from there. The app builder has made the templates customizable by allowing users to upload photos and logos.
Fan apps are also served well here. A user can create an app for their favorite sports team, amateur or pro, with schedules, highlight videos, and blogs.
The software also lets you publish to both Apple and Android devices. This is the only free app builder on the market that lets you do both. The company continues to expand its offerings in regard to devices and platforms.
For Appsbar, Shawn McNamara envisioned a single-stop shop for entrepreneurs wanting to participate in the mobile marketing game. That vision was realized with this tool. Appsbar was so unique that it was issued a patent in 2012.
