Hunarr is a stand alone skill development product of Aasaanjobs, an online recruitment and staffing company for entry level jobs. Founders of Aasaanjobs noticed a skill gap between the current level of employment and the employability of job seekers. This pushed the founder of Aasaanjobs to come up with a solution which took the shape of an online platform to help job seekers find the right training providers and training institutes.
Thus, an innovative startup Hunarr was launched in October 2015, headquartered in Mumbai. The startup was founded by three IIT Bombay alumnus Dinesh Goel, Gaurav Toshniwal, and Kunal Jadhav.
The idea behind the establishment of Hunarr is rooted in the real world. “While running Aasaanjobs, which moves into recruitment space for entry level job seekers, noticed that almost 70% of job seekers who are looking for jobs are not skilled enough to get one. Most of them lack in some or the other essential skill which is required for the job post”, said Dinesh Goel. This encouraged him to launch Hunarr for all those entry level job seekers. Hunarr connects them to training providers, thus helping them to add more value to their current skill sets and find a promising career.
On Hunarr, one can find industry-relevant professional training courses, this enables the course seekers to get placed after completion of the course. This is how Hunarr is unique from the existing players in the same space. Hunarr offers several amazing features for it users like enabling course search by job roles, finding institutes that give job assistance and guarantee. Apart from this it also provides extensive details on the course, like skills it teaches, certifications, course timings, and associated job roles to name a few. These features are missing in all the contemporary model.
Aasaanjobs raised 5 million USD in the series A round of funding. Since Hunarr is a stand alone product of Aasaanjobs, it was pictured those job seekers coming to the Aasaanjobs website but not able to get a job due to lack of skills. Through hunarr, these job seekers would turn as course seekers and can get upskilled.
Hunarr is free for training seekers, anyone can visit the website and search a suitable course which can develop their skills and for career enhancement. For training institutes, Hunarr creates microsites which substantially increases their online presence. With this training, institutes get benefits of SEO and increased revenue. However, Hunarr charges these institutes for providing them genuine and quality leads, who are looking out for counseling and training courses.
Hunarr has made an exceptional triumph in a very less period of time. Currently, 960 training institutes across 85 cities have listed on Hunarr. All these institutes are providing than 6,500 courses in total and have reached over 7,00,000 candidates who are searching for training institutes to develop their skills and knowledge.
Recently, Hunarr launched a new feature which enables students to pick course based on the key result area of a job. This means, now the users of Hunarr can see respective duties and responsibilities involved in a specific job role. This additional feature of this online training platform helps students to make a well-informed career decision on their own rather than taking advice from someone else. With this new feature, Hunarr is transforming the way of making career choice by the young aspirants. Students can now be career ready, with access to full-fledged information and training on what a particular job role entails.
The ultimate goal set by founders of Hunarr is to address the skill gap in the entire country. It also aims to help job seekers so that they are not limited by the availability of certain industries and courses nearby. Job seekers can now hope to gain skills and transform their lives from anywhere in this country.
