CM Shri Chouhan Distributes First M.P. Tourism Awards

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has distributed first M.P. Tourism Awards established in the state here today. Awards were presented to 39 winners in 22 categories besides Excellence certificates. Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (Independent Charge) Shri Surendra Patwa and Chairman State Tourism Development Corporation Shri Tapan Bhoumik were especially present in the programme.

Shri Chouhan further mentioned that there are wide scopes of employment opportunities in tourism sector. Madhya Pradesh is the first state of the country where Tourism Cabinet has been set up and favorable tourism policy has been made for the investors. Private sector has been encouraged in the tourism sector. Investment in tourism sector anywhere in the state will get 15 to 40 percent subsidy to the maximum of Rs.10 crore. Tourism project to be established at government land has been kept free from stamp and registration charges. Moreover, first water ? festival was organized in Hanuvantiya to encourage water ?tourism. The next water ?festival will be organized from December 15, 2016 to January 15, 2016.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that growth rate of Madhya Pradesh is above 10 percent since last eight years. Similarly, agriculture growth rate is above 20 percent since last four years. Better infrastructure facilities like roads, electricity and water are available in the state. Tourism is a powerful means to provide peace and happiness to the people. Madhya Pradesh is the best Tourism Destination. Religious, spiritual, wild life, heritage and adventurous tourism varieties are available in the state. Shri Chouhan said that a campaign will be conducted to highlight tourism varieties and for branding Madhya at International level. Madhya Pradesh will be made center of eco and adventurous tourism. He urged that investors should derive benefits of tourism policy of the state. Referring to the M.P. Tourism Awards, Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh tourism was conferred with several national awards in the last many years. Now we our self are giving awards for excellence in the tourism sector. These awards will be conferred every year.
Minister of State for tourism and Culture (Independent Charge) Shri Surendra Patwa said that tourism department?s budget has been increased 10 folds in the last 10 years. In the next three years, 300 road facilitation centers will be started. A sum of Rs.275 crore has been received for tourism development from the union government. There are wide and better possibilities of investment in the tourism sector in the state.

Chairman State Tourism Development Corporation Shri Tapan Bhoumik in his welcome speech said that Madhya Pradesh has bagged excellent tourism state award continuously since last 5 years. Tourist places of Madhya Pradesh will be publicized at international level. People doing excellently well in the tourism sector are being encouraged and honored first time with the State tourism awards.
Managing Director State Tourism Development Corporation Shri Hariranjan Rao gave presentation focusing scope of tourism and opportunities in the state. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan virtually dedicated Bison Resort Madai and Teak Resort Delawadi. Chairman of I.A.T.O Shri Pranav Sarkar, Chairman of A.D.T.O.I. Shri P.P. Khanna, Chairman of I.T.T.A.K. Shri Krishnadutt Yadav and Chairman of A.T.O.A.I. Shri Akshay Kumar were present on the occasion.

Chairman Shri Tapan Bhoumik, M.D. Shri Hariranjan Rao and Additional Managing Director Sushri Tanvi Sundriyal welcomed the guests. Sushri Sundiyal also gave vote of thanks. It may be mentioned that representatives of travel ?tour, tourism, hospitality and hotels are taking part in large numbers in the M.P. Travel Mart.
