Minister for Education and Skills, Ireland, Richard Bruton TD inaugurated the European delivery centre of NIIT Limited in Dublin, Ireland today. NIIT is a global company headquartered in India which provides multi-disciplinary learning management and training delivery solutions to corporations, institutions, and individuals in over 40 countries.
The inauguration was attended by the Indian Ambassador to Ireland, Mrs. Radhika Lal Lokesh, IDA Ireland executives (Industrial Development Authority), Dublin City University President, Prof. Brian MacCraith, and Sapnesh Lalla, President, NIIT Corporate Learning Group. NIIT's customers and partners, senior members of the IDA, and NIIT's leadership team from North America were also in attendance at the ceremony which combined the best traditions of both countries with a ribbon-cutting and a traditional Indian "lighting of the lamp".

NIIT had earlier announced the setting up of its Dublin centre in September 2015 when the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi had visited Ireland. NIIT had the honor of being welcomed by the Irish Prime Minister, Enda Kenny TD in his joint press statement with the Prime Minister of India.

NIIT's Dublin centre of excellence is located at DCU ALPHA, a research-intensive innovation campus co-located with Dublin City University. The centre will be at the heart of NIIT's Europe operations and will provide managed training services to leading companies in Europe and North America. NIIT's Dublin operations have been initially set up with local new hires and NIIT will continue to invest in hiring over 100 local employees in the coming months. NIIT will employ content developers, high-end engineers, creative writers, instructional designers, digital media professionals, trainers, multilingual customer service support professionals, and project managers.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Bruton, who has met senior NIIT executives in New Delhi on two previous trade missions said, "I am well aware from our meetings in New Delhi that NIIT is a world-leading company in its sector. I am delighted to visit DCU today to Inaugurate NIIT'S new office and I wish NIIT every success. As Minister for Jobs, I visited India on three major trade missions and I have seen first-hand the amazing work being done by IDA and Enterprise Ireland in that market and the massive potential for attracting further investments and jobs to Ireland."

Sapnesh Lalla, President NIIT Corporate Learning Group said, "Dublin is now an integral part of our extended global family. We are extremely thankful for the support extended to us by the Government of Ireland, Minister Bruton, and the IDA. Ireland has an exceptionally conducive business environment and a very talented workforce and we have taken the first step towards building one of the finest global centres for bespoke content development, training management and delivery excellence - here in Dublin."

Martin Shanahan, CEO, IDA Ireland commented "NIIT is a very welcome addition to the growing base of Indian companies establishing in Ireland. NIIT is a strong reference for IDA Ireland as we work in the Indian market to win more business for Ireland. I would like to reiterate IDA's commitment to NIIT's development in Ireland and congratulate Sapnesh Lalla and the local team on this important milestone."
