In 2006 the UN officially recognized Toronto as the most ethnically diverse city in the world. With the city's largest cultural community being of South Asian heritage (1.), the International Film Festival of South Asia (May 19-23) presents the ideal opportunity to celebrate integration and Canada's rich cultural diversity.

The festival, which is the largest of its kind in the whole of North America, will culminate in a grandiose weekend beginning on May 19th, and feature more than eighty feature films, short films and documentaries, in thirteen different languages. Such an undertaking, which will include at least forty unique events open to the public, doesn€™t come cheaply however, and event organizers have turned to local businesses for support. Leading the charge with €˜Premier Level€™ sponsorship is prominent [Toronto personal injury law firm](http://www.himprolaw.com), Himelfarb Proszanski.

€œI know that it seems an unlikely mix; personal injury and an entertainment event,€ laughs David Himelfarb, Managing Partner of Himelfarb Proszanski, €œbut in my experience, positivity is one of the best ways to aid recovery after an accident or injury. Numerous studies have shown that if you€™re happy in yourself, you€™re more likely to heal €“ and more quickly. A provision of good entertainment is very much part of that.€

€œSouth Asia has such a fantastically rich and vibrant film and arts scene, and with Toronto€™s growing ethnic diversity, I think it€™s really important to celebrate the culture that people of different heritages are bringing to our fabulous city.€

€œWhile there are some local organizations €“ like the Canadian South Asian Growth and Support Services (CSAGSS) €“ which work to help with the integration of immigrants, the corporate world usually takes a back seat. In sponsoring the IFFSA Himelfarb Proszanski wants to do its share to aid integration, heighten South Asian cultural awareness, and support cross-cultural bridges in Toronto, while also spreading a little happiness.€

The IFFSA, which runs concurrently with the Punjabi International Film Festival (PIFF), will take place in venues throughout Toronto from May 19th. The aim of the event is to celebrate South Asian culture and arts, and it already looks set to be an enormous success.
