Steelbird Helmets further strengthen its association with national sports of India Hockey

Steelbird Helmets, country?s largest helmets brand sponsored 33rd Nehru Sub-Junior Hockey Tournament- 2015. The third in the Six Tournament hockey series, conducted annually by the Nehru Hockey Society is getting popular day by day among the emerging hockey lovers. Overall 31 teams participated and Army Boys sports Coy, Danapur has won the tournament by defeating Govt. Model High School, Sector-42, Chandigarh by 4-3 in the final.

The total number of teams were 31 including Indira Priyadarshni Hr. Sec. School Bhopal, Rajasthan, Punjab, Goa, Krida Prabodhini, Pune, Sri Guru Hari Singh Collage sirsa Haryana, Young Pioneer?s English School Imphal Manipur, Town Hugh School sundergarh Odisha, Govt. High School Mizoram etc.

Speaking on the occasion ?Mr. Shelindra Jain, Group Head - Sales and Marketing, Steelbird Helmets said, ?Steelbird 33rd Nehru Sub- Junior Hockey Tournament is organized specially to promote our National Game in the country and to revive interest in the sport. Moreover India is also in the grip of this magic called hockey as millions of youngsters across the country are taking to the game with enthusiasm and it gives a platform to many young players to showcase their talent?.

The winning team received Rs 96,000 along with the glittering trophy while the runners-up team got Rs 64,000. The coach of the Army Boys' team Shri. Achal Sharma received Rs 8,000 while the Chandigarh team coach Ms. Simardeep Kaur received Rs 5,000. Sanjay of the Chandigarh school, who was named the Best Player of the tournament, received Rs 11,000. Mickey Lakra, the ever agile goalkeeper of the team, was declared the Man of the Match and received an ALFA Composite hockey stick.
